An Easy Crepe Recipe That Only Takes 5 Minutes
Easier and healthier than pancakes, crepes make a quick and delicious breakfast idea. Not only can you whip one up in no time, you can add any number of toppings to it, ranging from sweet (berries and sugar) to savory (turkey and cheese) ingredients. In 5 minutes, you can have a crepe ready to go with no problem at all, so why not give it a try? This easy crepe recipe, from Instructables’ user ihart, is so simple you’ll wonder why you never made it before. Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. milk
Step 1: Prep Ingredients
Before you get into making the crepes, it’s a good idea to gather up all the ingredients you’ll be using. While this varies from person to person, some of the popular ones include bananas, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, whipped cream, regular cream, peanut butter and more.
Step 2: Whisk Batter
Start by putting 1 tablespoon of butter into the microwave and heating it on high for 20 to 40 seconds. Make sure that not all of it is melted, then mix it up with a whisk in a large bowl. Now dump in the rest of the ingredients: eggs, flour, sugar, salt, and milk. Mix the batter up with a whisk until it’s smooth.
Step 3: Cook the Crepes
With the flame set to medium, heat your non-stick pan for about a minute. Add about two spoonfuls of crepe batter to the pan. Rotate the pan around until the crepe batter is evenly leveled across the entire thing.
When you notice that the edges are slightly brown, it’s time to flip it over. Cook the other side for about 30 seconds. If you see browning, it’s done.
Step 4: Fill Your Crepes
Place your crepe onto a dish and fill it with the ingredients of your choice. You can mix and match to see what tastes great, like cream, strawberries and granola. Another popular one is simply peanut butter and banana slices.
You can even make a lunch version with turkey, avocados and cheese.
